It is with gratitude and pleasure, that I take on the position of President of the
Rotary Club of Kathmandu Midtown. I stand alongside 22 past Presidents who are still members of our club which has grown through Service Above Self over 37 years.

For RY 2026-27 RI President Olayinka Hakeem Babalola has chosen the theme,
“Create Lasting Impact”. It seems to fit perfectly with what Midtown does, since our end goal is to create lasting impact in the lives that we are fortunate enough to touch. Whether it is by helping to give the Gift of Sight through our yearly cataract surgeries; relief and recovery support after disasters such as earthquakes, floods or fires; snakebite prevention and awareness; providing medication for latent TB; providing opportunities to educate young children as well as college-going students; helping to improve infrastructure for children with Cerebral palsy; or any one of the small or large projects that the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Midtown does, we want to bring positive impact. Planting trees to mitigate climate disasters; helping nurses with mental health; and early detection to prevent the spread of TB are projects we hope to implement soon.

Much of what Midtown does also matches well with the District Goals for
2026-27. The target set is high, but by joining hands, nothing is unreachable!

We will continue to empower youth by working alongside our amazing
Rotaractors and Interactors, and help diverse communities in different parts of
the country in collaboration with other Rotary Clubs in District 3292.
Through Fellowship, sharing experiences and being a part of sustainable projects, we have much to give and learn to continue to improve upon what Midtown has achieved over the decades.

We remain focused on: As we look ahead, let us be guided by the words of Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary:“Whatever Rotary may mean to us; to the world it will be known by the results it achieves.” Let these words be our call to action. Together, let’s continue to serve – not only to uplift others but to discover the best in ourselves. We Unite for Good, to build trust, for fellowship and Service Above Self.
