Snakebite Prevention Awareness and Treatment in Nepal
Over the past two years we have work together with 51 Rotary Clubs from around the world to provide earthquake relief assistance. We supplied tarps and corrugated iron sheets immediately after the earthquake and we continue to follow-up with long-term reconstruction of schoolrooms, toilets,and alternative livelihoods options. The Club in collaboration with Ellon Rotary Club, District 1010 Scotland supports Early Years Education in Sindhupalchok April 2016-March 2018 with First Steps Himalaya. Following the earthquake of April 2015, this global grant refurbish selected schools, fits out the recently constructed earthbag training centre and supports and train teachers in improved teaching methods. The project is implemented through our partners at.
This year with the help of the Rotary Club of Potomac-Bethesda (GG1637950) we will be helping to preventing hearing loss among Nepalese children by providing auditory screening and surgical equipment, by screening children for correctible ear problems, by providing ear surgery for children and by promoting increased awarenessand prevention.
This project, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Singapore, will develop opportunities for improved livelihood and food security of communities in Nuwakot District. These earthquake affected communities will learn: organic vegetable production; seed preservation; and enterprise development. Women’s groups will learn now to grow winter crops particularly of organic vegetables and will develop the entrepreneurial and technical skills to successfully grow, harvest, process and market coffee.
For more than a decade, we worked together with the Rotary Club of Mount-Everest and in collaboration with RC Darmstadt-Bergstraße RID-1860 Germany. In all, 52 girls from 10 remote districts of Western Nepal are now Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) and have established clinics in their communities.
This biogas project (MG 79679)
This biogas project (MG 79679) in collaboration with the RC Borken (Germany) will help to provide domestic bio gas and fertilizer for 90 households in Parsauni village, Nawalparasi.
The Simpani Water Project — an Economic Sustainability Project (GG1754006) in collaboration with Masan-East Rotary Club (S.Korea) . It will bring water to more than 30 families in the village of Simapani (Dhading). These villagers lost their water supply when natural springs dried up due to the earthquake. This project will help to redirect water to their village so that they do not need to relocate.
